It was only in 2004 when the members of Monkey Son of a Donkey decided to form a band that will create the most unrestrained R'n'R hymns. Cavan (guitar and also a member of the Astroglides) and Guy (guitar), both ex-members of Happy Family, an obscuro-rock band that broke up in the late nineties, teamed up with Noam (vocals), Lihi (bass) and Yaniv (drums) to conceive the most sardonic Rock'n'Roll band in Israel. The band's first EP "Chansons du Cul" introduced the local crowd to MSOAD's lust for taboo-breaking provocations, and later succeeded to upset radical feminist activists due to its seemingly (?) misogynic nature. During 2005 the band performed their filthy garage rock'n'roll in numerous shows, including a frenzied live session in "HaKatze", Israeli's premier alternative radio show, and also recorded a second EP "Friday at the Stock Exchange" that refers to some of the band's members fascination with whoredom. Nowadays, the band continues to play live shows and also started to work on their first full length album. In 2006 the band decided to take time off after recording their first full-length. |
